what battry do you use?
haha some stock battery i found out of a kia rio! hahaha not good at all im due for a new battery, that relocating the battery in the storage bins is a great idea, but i have other plans for the bins lol

What makes one battery superior to another? Seems to me there's only a couple things: superior basic tech, i.e., lead-acid vs. NiCad vs. NiMh, etc. or superior materials and production.
The labels on the outside mean nothing. For example, "36 month" vs. "54 month" vs. "72 month" is meaningless. Those batteries are exactly the same except for their guarantee period. They are identical otherwise. I found that out from an executive in the auto battery business.
The empirical results are mixed: some people get good results with Optima, some get better results with HD, some even report that Costco is the best. What's up? I suspect that the answer lies elsewhere, it is not the battery but something else. Especially since most of these batteries use the same lead-acid technology, and manufacturing materials and methods seems like they would make a slim difference. Except for manufacturing defects, all lead-acid batteries should have the same internal resistance, thus, the same cranking power. And, for the same reasons, they would have the same shelf life (same internal shunt conductance). At least when fairly new.
Most batteries should work Real Good with the RX-7 engine because it turns over so easily. Even in very cold weather.
But you can't say the same for battery cables. I suspect that the Aluminum cables in the RX-7 have too high a resistance, even in warm weather conditions, and that they get Really Bad in cold weather. They should be replaced if you live in cold weather areas. I just conducted a simple experiment on my 3 RX-7s, in my temperate 55 degree weather, and was surprised at how poor the results were. The difference is surface area to do chemical work....Wal Mart, Interstate, most bike batts will be plate style. Optima is spiral wound in a gel which greatly increases the surface area available to do chemical work.
