I hate exide with a passion, they have had the worst quality control I have ever seen. I do not know if they have correctd that since I was in the business, but they sucked.

You forgot Yuasa. They are made in PA. I've been to the factory and have a lead ball as a "souvenir".

Optima, we use them is the race cars, small, strong crank, excellent all around performance.

Exide still has poor quality. I run an auto parts store and the batteries that we see come in as cores are overwhelmingly made by Exide. Yes I forgot some Yuasas are made here but you can't usually find them aftermarket except at import dealerships. They come stock in many Japanese vehicles.

Are you sure? What are your sources? I did buy my optima from an interstate dealer, and it said interstate on it, but the interstate paper stick was slapped over the top and obscuring the optima stuff molded into the top.

Optima is owned by johnson controls. Interstate owns itself.
