best FB to supercharge?

Well, on my search for a FB, I think I've come to the conclution that I probably wont be happy with the power i get from staying N/A. I want to get a supercharger from atkins or I think J/R makes one too, ahve to do a little more research on that though. Anyway, I originally wanted to get a GSL-SE, because of the fuel injected 13b, but now I think It may be easier to get a carbed 12A, and supercharge it, with a bigger carb, maybe a streetport. MY question is, do all 84-85's come with the 4wheel disc brakes, or just the -SE's?? Does anyone else have a supercharger setup that could help me out a bit?? It wouldnt seem too hard on a Carbed car I wouldnt think. Just wanted to know the best all around carbed FB. Thanks.

The GSL and SE were the only ones that came with rear disc. I think a supercharger would work fine on a 12A.

Here's a site that might be helpful for ya. This guy put a supercharged rotary in a Miata. He used a low compression 13B Turbo block. A 12a might have too much compression for a blower me thinks.

Hope this helps. Good luck!

you would just have to keep low boost to match the higher compression, although there were turbo kits for the 12a's back in the day so they must be able to handle some boost.

Go with a good aftermarket FI and you can boost a high compression engine, the SCC guys just blew a 11.5 to 1 toyota Matrix. The past problems with high compression with boost can be overcome. I would personally run a GSL-SE or GSL with a 88+ ported T2 motor and a supercharger, running a haltech or something. That would produce as much power as a T2 but more torque, I would think.

If I were you I would just go with a GSL-SE because... its EFI, has a 13B, and you will then have all wheel vented disk brakes.... if I am not mistaken......

You should consider a turbo, or a external(sort of speak) super charger...... like a blow through....... then it would give you a chance to run and intercooler............

I would like to do this someday also....

Mind you, with longevity on the street an issue, you will probably have to address the extra stress that the SC will put on the front bearing and housing or suffer the consequences...some other site had a list of mods they had to perform to correct the problem...of course, I have no idea where it is...
