Unhappy Well this sucks.

I got a letter in the mail today saying that I'm going to be getting charged for having my 1983 GSL sitting, and so I've got to get rid of it immediately. It has been for sale for the past several months and everyone who has taken a bite on it has fallen through with it. It is going to the junk yard within the next couple of days.

My 1984 will be sticking around. I'll be moving into my new house within a couple of months and as soon as I get in there, my 1984 is going directly into the garage and immediate work will start to get it back on the road again.

All this because my previous job didn't pay enough to get my 1983 back up and on the road.

I already moved all my spare parts from my 1983 into my 1984 and removed the targa band from it. I'm going to refinish the targa band and stick it on my 1984 Rx7. Refinishing it black should accent the car pretty nicely.

Anyway, here are a few pictures of the two together.

And yes, I know these pictures have been posted several times. Just let me have my moment, haha.

I guess its time to change my sig too, haha.

Looking at your residential setup, I don't see why the law would give a damn over your car sitting. You seem to have plenty of land surrounding the house, including the driveway up to the house.

Yep. I thought the exact same way. I couldn't hardly believe it myself, but apparently either the county treasurer (living down the road) and a county cop (living closest house to me) didn't like it too much. So the one without plates, interior, or engine apparently has to go.

The only friends I would trust to keep it live in an apartment and I wouldn't be able to keep it there regardless. Its alright. After my white one is back up and running again, I'm sure I'll find another one to take its place. Maybe go with an FC next time, or who knows, depending on how my financial situation is, maybe even an FD.

Regardless, I am far from out of the game guys. Just sucks to see my first FB go.

Ya, thats a bummer, good to hear you staying in the game though. Hope everything works out and you get an FD, that would be sweet.

Why not put plates on it? They shouldn't have any argument about a car like this sitting if it's got plates and a current registration. I'm not sure the way it is in Indiana, but in Iowa, it costs something like $20 per year to register a car as old as an fb.

Well if I do get an FD it will be a long time away when it does get bought.

And I had plates on it for a really long time. I ended up taking them off because I had a better back bumper to put on the car and after I replaced it I just never put it back on there. I can't find it now, and that is why its no longer there.

There was a big dent in the top of it by the moonroof that leaks like crazy, anyway.

Instead of taking to the junk yard. Isn't there a member in the area that you could just give it to? That would be better than it getting scrapped.

I agree. Better to pass it on to a fellow rotorhead than the scrapyard vampires...

Quick tip: Always keep your non-running project cars under a car cover...then the do-gooder busy bodies dont know that its not registered.
A mans home is his castle, what he keeps behind his draw bridge and moat should be nobodies business.

Wheel well rust, a basketball goal fell ont he roof of it and now the roof leaks like nobodies business, no motor, no interior. The motor was shot, and its torn apart (going to be the replacement motor for my white car), and the interior would crumble to the touch.

If I knew of another member close enough to me that would take it I would have called them. I was told that the junkyard would give me cash for it, not sure if it was true or not. I'd like to get money out of it either way.

^haha maybe I've been watching too many movies based on H.P. Lovecraft's works lately, but really bad things popped into my head (think Re-Animator, From Beyond, Bride of Re-Animator and Beyond Re-Animator). hahahahaha
