Well its dead - tree fell on it. :(
Ive been working on this car for years now. It was my baby. I've never been so upset! I HATE FLORIDA AND THIS STUPID WEATHER!!! KNOCKING MY TREES DOWN! And the worst of all it was being worked on for the summer and no insurance because i wasn't driving it.

also feel on the front right fender, and the hood.
it was in mint shape, interior is perfect. Ofcourse im going to buy another so ill be selling parts from this.

Don't wanna get your hopes up 'cause most standard homeowners policies don't cover the car...but it's worth asking anyway! I should have been more clear. I guess it all depends on any "additional" coverage you may have.

I wont. It will cost you more to fix it than to look for another shell. Well, Im in CALI so I have no problem finding stuff and I have too many junk collections.

do you find that it's weird that your username is twigg, and a tree fell on your car? I would.
real sorry for the car man, i'd probably cry too if I saw a tree on top of my car.
Oh well. Best of luck on your next project.

my 82 gsl was wrecked too, something happened with my steering wheel and i lost control and before i new it my car was wrecked in front of a house i hit. i dint cry but i was pretty darn close, wat was funny was the hit was from the front and the car still turned on but it was leaking coolant and oil, so i shut it off.
but hey look at it on the bright side, ur car my car and other fb's are in rotary heaven racing each other. and the next one u have will be better and just as fun. sorry for ur loss. may ur car and other fb's R.I.P

Fix it, and here why
Four spot welds at the top of the windshield pillars, and 12 spot welds at the roofline at the junction of the rear pillar and the roof. there is also a brazed section in the same location.
takes about 6~8 hours to remove, re-spot weld and braze back in. It will take a little longer to do the grinding on the brazed section as well as reseat the glass.
I would fix it if the bottom end was not rusted. If the bottom end (rear seat area, or front frame rails) is rotted, then get another shell, other wise remove the headliner, and break out a sander, remove the paint so you can see the spot welds and the brazed areas.
these cars were assembled on a line, so all of the spot welds/allignment marks are the same for the entire run, that includes all of the 81-85. 78 (non us versions) through early 80 were all the same the onlyu weird one was the mid 1980, it was a bastardized version at least here in Japan. as long as you get the same year +- then its easy to swap.
Don't give up , and look at it as a lesson learned about insurance etc. not to mention the fact you get to now learn a totally new skill as a result.
