Weld......use either a spot or Mig type unit.

Brazing is more like soldering or gas welding with a torch. It requires a lot more heat and time........both of which are the enemy of sheet metal, which warps badly when being fused back together with a weld.Mig allows you to "tack" the pieces together in very short little burst, reducing heat transfer.

i have a few small holes that need to be fixed 1" max and the inside of the wheel wells have some rust damage. I am looking to cut out and replace. I am good on an arc and a torch but have never used a mig. is the transition hard.
"should I buy a cheap mig"?

go mig with a small job like that the heat transfer would warp the metal and cause more work for you on the end

A monkey can Mig weld, its easy.Like most welding, its all in the prep.

The little 110V, inner sheild wire machines will do the job for panels and sheetmetal........but nothing beats a big roll around 240V unit, with an Argon bottle and some 035 wire. You can always turn a big machine down, but you cant turn a small one up!

MIG welding your holes would be the best choice.

+1 to Steve! And when you have a ton of crap to waste, its hella fun to play with!
