Weird Oil Gauge
The other day I was driving my 85 FB 12a to work when I noticed the oil gauge was pegged out over 110psi. When I let the engine idle, the gauge would drop to 60psi. If the engine is reved above idle it peggs out again.
While running the engine I can tell that it sounds a little different than usual. It revs up way faster than usual and I can feel a weird vibration when it's reved. The sound of the engine made me pretty suspicious that the engine is not getting oil or that there is blockage somewhere. I immediately parked the car and it has been sitting until I get the chance to look at it in depth.
So far I've pulled the dip stick and found the oil to be clean and up to level. I took off the oil filter and found it full.
Has anyone ever ran into this before? Where should I start?
Thanks for the help!
PS: This FB is stock.
