Weird no start problem

The car ran GREAT yesterday, but this morning all it would do is crank. Occasionally it would turn over and run for a few seconds and then kick off again.

The car is a 1984 12A.

I drove the car all day yesterday.

I did put Premium fuel in the car. Does that make a difference? If so, how can I get the car to start?

There is a thread in the FAQ section by member Pele on no starts.
Also on the premium fuel. Waste of money. There is another thread there in the FAQ about which fuel to use also.

Alright...the car will turn over and run for a few seconds at a very very low idle. if you hold the gas in while trying to start, it won't turn over at all. If you floor it while its idling low, it will die.

Something fuel related. It just doesn't make sense because was running top notch yesterday.

Any adjustments or anything?

Its probably flooded. Take the plugs out and clean them off and spin the motor to get rid of the gas. Make sure you pull the rotor so you don't spark the gas up.

Also, its cooler up where your at now. Are you using the choke? Sounds like its also a cold start issue. The premium gas isn't helping, rotaries like lower octane gas, the lower the better.

Ok I have the car running now...you just need to give it some gas.

Anyway...I was going to change the fuel filter.

Where is it? Is it easily accessible or in the tank?

Thanks for all the help

Fuel filter

I dont know where it would be on an 84, but on the 79 it is on the drivers side just forward of the fuel tank. Hope that helps.
