weird issue not sure what to make of it
ok so i just replaced my clutch and everything went pretty smooth but the garage i did it in was at the top of a steep driveway and i only had about 1/4 tank so as i was pulling it in it started sputtering but i didnt think anything of it but after i pulled it out it was sputtering a lot so i just figured i had gotten air in the fuel lines and it would eventually make its way out. well the sputtering eventually went away but my car seemed to be revving pretty high and smelled like it might be running rich so i re-tuned the carb and its now idling at about 750-800 at operating temp but the big flat screw that adjusts air flow (79 carb) is turned almost all the way in. is that normal? why did i need to re-tune the carb after my clutch swap?

If you need to have your idle speed screw all the way in (for higher idle) then there may be an issue like a vacuum leak. Have you removed rats nest? Do your brakes work properly? When you press the brake pedal does the engine bog or sputter? If this is the case then check the main vac line that feeds the brake booster. Maybe pinched a hose putting the rans back in... Throwing out some ideas.

actually yes when i pump the brakes it does bog but i just figures that was because i vented the crank case to a T fitting where the brake master cylinder is connected via vacuum hose to the intake mani... i hope that makes sense lol. and the rats nest has been gone since i got the car but ill check the hose your talkin about and all others for that matter.
Thanks.
Thanks.
