Weird

This is really weird, and it really sux BIG time! First I had this dream last night that someone smashed into my REX, and completely totalled it. It was more like a damn nightmare!! It was horrible!! Then my mom calls me today and told me that since Im fixin to go to college, she doesnt feel "safe" about me driving my car Then she says if I wont a newer car, then Im going to have sell my REX!! And it still needs some stuff for it to make it reliable, like springs, replace all the bushings and ball joints, and some other stuff. And Im broke, so I dont have any money to fix her up, and she wont give me any money to fixer up. Im screwed!! This sux!! There's no way Im going to sell my car!! HELL NO!! And then get this... I was reading the paper to see if I could find a newer RX, like a 88 or 89. And I saw this one add in bold letters saying- "WANTED: RED 1ST GENERATION RX7" My car is a 1984 and red!!! WTF???!! DAMN IT THIS SUX!! Screw it, ill walk to college, its only 150 miles. Im NOT selling her!

You go dude!

I see many people feel the same way about their 7's as I do about mine. I feel less freakish now, plus everyone fighing for their 7 makes me wanna fight even more to keep mine. Keep it up man, you'll keep her as long as your determined to do so. You might not be able to think of something right now, but something will come along.

What are we up to now in the numbers of distressed 7 owners/lovers?

We got Me, JimmyHat, and one or two others who have their parents or The Man trying to force their 7 away from them.

We got CraigG and his 7's recent demise.

One of the Yellow cars with a dead enigne, soon to be rebuilt.

Some bad car-ma () goin on...

Did she give you a price range for the replacement car? Have you priced out what you need to get your REX up to Par? I would imagine your mom may be more willing to let you fix it rather than spend more money on its replacement. A spreadsheet showing the dollars and cents of her proposal may turn her head. Just a thought!

Well so far, Im thinking somewhere around $300 at the most. And she said that she will give me about $6000 or a new car, but she doesnt want to put any money in my car. I dont know if I can change her mind, but its worth a try i guess. I have until aug. 31.

Can you fix the stuff that's wrong with your REX yourself?

You had stated, "And it still needs some stuff for it to make it reliable, like springs, replace all the bushings and ball joints, and some other stuff."

What "other stuff" does it need?

this is one time where you should definatly not listen to your mom. fix the seven up. you will be glad you did once it is done..

ever since i recked mine, a few weeks ago, my parents have been telling me to get rid of it, and making fun on me for spending all of my time trying to revive her.. but you know what. i am doing it, and it will be done. cheap too... spend 500 on a new body, and am rebuilding the thing from the ground up with parts from both cars...

now that is a hell of a lot cheaper than getting a new ride, and fun working on it too.. plus, i will have one sweet seven out of the deal when i am done..

keep looking up.

i'll bet if you got the $6000 new/used car, within the first year, you'll have to put $300 into it somewhere. a lot of newer cars are such a pain to fix, you almost HAVE to take it to a mechanic... and that ain't cheap! the rx, on the other hand, is easy to fix. you'll save tons o' money just on doing the basic maintennance yourself! then you can tell her to give you the $6000 throughout your college years to help make ends meet. sound like a plan?
