This weekends work

Actually got some work done this weekend, I was able to plug up my intake holes better than what was there when I bought the car.

I drilled out the hole where my stripped distributor bolt went, and threw in a stud I made from some 1/4-20 threaded bar I bought from lowes. After some JB weld and a lot of waiting I finally have a distributor that doesnt flap in the wind. Sorry I dont have a finished picture but I promise its neato.

I rattle canned the hell out of my splotchy chrome trim and tried to make the car look somewhat presentable.

looks pretty good. when you have time, throw up a pic of that distributor fix. not sure how log the electrical tape will hold up that close to the exhaust but it will be a decent temporary fix.

Well I did more than just that this weekend, I got tired of looking at that blue monster under the hood and I figured "what the hell, lets get some air into this hunk of junk" So: 25 bucks, some cutting, and some grinding later I got this...

Oh, did I also mention I did some weight savings?

By the way, that electrical isnt really doing much anyway, I just put it there because it was laying around. The tapered rubber plug is stuck in there pretty damn good. I will take a picture of the distributor with my phone later when I get a chance.

With the worls greatest invention ever, the hose clamp!

and for some reason this picture didnt upload all the way so I re did it this morning.

Taking off some of these bracket bolts with no PB blaster or WD40 was a real pain, I recommend having a bottle of it nearby at all times.

Good work! Only problem with the intake is it will be sucking in hot air.

Ya that air filter might choke out the engine under WOT or high RPM ...

actually, at WOT I get a noticable increase in speed over the stock filter, and a much louder noise. The stock intake is drawing from the engine bay as well. Even with that stupid black extension on it its not doing much better especially compared to getting air from all around it instead of one way. I love it so far, it was seriously noticeable as soon as I changed it over.
