Weber IDA base Line Jetting Recommendations???

I am looking for suggestions on where to start a base-line tune for my large-street-ported 12A with a weber IDA.

This engine would be EP legal, So I am tempted to use the required 38mm venturi, then use a 160 main and 160 airs thru F7 E-tubes.... so I can tune from there and have a really good EP set-up.

BUT ... The scope of this car is in the ability to drive to an autoX, compete, well, and drive back.

the carb now has really really large venturi... Prolly 44's.

I don't really care if I need to buy new (costly) chokes and other various tuning parts. I need it to be right, no matter what.

Any advice is greatly appreciated

i have no idea, but i'm very interested in this because i'm planning to convert to IDA as soon as i can.

the first names that come to mind are Wackyrotary and Revhed. if this thread does not provide the responses you seek, then you might consider PM-ing them.

well you need to use f11 e-tubes, and if your motor is ported your going to use more like a 190- 200 main jet.. since your limited to the 38mm venturi, you will need to go with a large air correction jet, in the 180- 190 range..

I jetted my bro's big *** 12-A streetport thats before he blew the motor due to cracked oil line.

43 venturies
150 air
220 main
75 idle jet
modified fuel inlet and junk that screen filter inside
add 1 more progression hole on each side (should have 3 total progression holes)
modiify the fuel bowl for omp.
and for more peace of mind, knock out that wall next to the fuel bowl for extra ounce of fuel.

How do you add a progression hole? A really tiny drill bit?

I use number drill - find the closest size and drill but be sure to turn the shaft. You dont want to put holes or scratch the flappers or what they call the throttle valves.
