Dellorto is generally regarded as a well-done knockoff of Weber's carbs. The Dellortos have better progression circuits (better resolution for your fuel delivery at part-throttle), an enriching choke function, and "hot swappable" jets. Webers are better supported and simpler. Parts don't interchange between them.

I found this info from this site http://www.aircooled.net/gnrlsite/re...s/carbs101.htm

Here is what they said.

Dellorto DRLA: is essentially the same carb as the Weber IDF, just made by Dellorto. It comes in 36, 40, 45, and 48 mm sizes. It's important to note that the DRLA carb sizing is 1 step larger than the equivalent Weber. A 36 mm Dellorto is equivalent toa 40 mm Weber; a 45mm Dellorto is equivalent to a 48mm Weber; etc.

Does this stand the same in the DHLA?..because rb used the dhla as their platform for dell carbs...and it runs well on a stock port 12a..

No very different. For starters a 48 IDA is leaps and bounds better than a 48 IDF.

In all my years I have never heard this, and I don't believe it for a second. 45 mm is 45mm no matter which way you cut it.
