Off the top of my head...

Purchase
- Weber 48 IDA and manifold.
- New intake gasket.
- After market fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator.
- 20mm freeze plugs.
- Recommended to upgrade to 3/8ths fuel line.

- Drain coolant
- Disconnect all fuel/vacuum lines going to the carb and manifold.
- Disconnect throttle/cruise/hot start ***./choke cables.
- Un-bolt and remove the old carb and manifold .
- Scrape off old intake Gasket.
- Install 20mm freeze plugs in coolant ports.
- Install new intake gasket.
- Bolt on new intake manifold
- Bolt carb to top of manifold
- Reconnect necessary fuel/vacuum lines.
- Reconnect throttle cable.
- Install after market fuel system components.
- Add new coolant.

I never blocked off my coolant passages when I installed my 45... I tried before but it just leaked slightly. Put new O rings in and put my manifold on.

TELL ME ABOUT IT! Haha. I got someone else to put them in for me this time. Last time it drove me insane, I thought they came a size too big!

Yeah i ended up using a socket that was just the right size and a mini sledge. Would have been much easier with the motor out of the car, but oh well they are in and not leaking!

for the 48 ida you gotta remove "the rats nest" there are only 3 vaccum hookups on the manifold, 1 for the brake booster(off second rotor runner), and 2 for purge/pcv valve(one in going to each rotor facing the passanger fender).

you also have to decide premix/oil injection, premix is easy no modification needed(my choice 1oz/gallon of lucas high preformance 2stroke oil), to retain stock omp, you have to tap into the fuel bowl with inlet fittings and modify omp lines.

a wide band or some sort of tunning method (I use a wideband O^2 with mine, no guessing at jetting) a variety of jets to tune appropriatly with.

an air cleaner assembly not usually included if new

search there are very good writes and walk throughs for all steps needed
good luck!

Yes a wideband would be nice, but is not totally necessary as you can rely on the many of other members that have already mapped out the correct jetting. Then just tune a little rich and you "should" be okay

I have a large street port 12a, and my jets are set to run 12.1 a/f at WOT it varies through rpm/throttle position(a wide band O^2 sensor makes tunning a breeze, i can rejet mine in 10 min, and know if it is a better setting in less time than that). I cant remember my settings right now but this is a good guide(IDA jetting) on where to start from, I belive they are for racing but these settings will get you close, for your engine you will need to play around and find out what works best for you and your application/usage.

Where do you mount your O2 sensor?

i have mine near the muffler, its the only place that the RB streetport exhaust system is a single pipe, it needs to be put in prior to the catalitic converters if equiped, to give an accurate reading, I have also been told putting them too close the the engine can burn out sensors fast due to heat, I use this one, the kit comes with just enough wire to get it from just past the rear axel (where my o^2 sensor is mounted)to the clocks prior location(where i put the guage). all required parts for instalation are included you just need the supplied bung welded onto the exhaust to put in a sensor. it provides a real time a/f display on the dash for the convience of not needing a lap top for jetting!
