i know there have been threads on this, btu most of them are on webber 48's. My question is, is a Webber 45IDA big enoguh for a stock of mild port engine? are dcoe's ALOT better then IDA's?

A 45 IDA is a typically used for racing, because it has no transitional circuits. Meaning its meant for WOT or idle, and doesnt like to cruise. An IDA is PLENTY of carb for a stock or street port. A DCOE is more of a "street" carb, and is good for a stock or street port too.

I have to disagree. I have been running big street ported motors with IDA's for over 10 years. This is a daily driver in fucked up LA traffic and I have no problem driving it. Some people dont like it specially in cold mornings but thats because their carb is not set up properly. Doestn like to cruise, then you may wanna try using a lower idle jet and venturies.
