Power Increase on Dual Webber 48's

I was just wondering what kind of power increase I will get from the racing beat dual webber 48's. I know the holley are like 40 with headers, but how do the webbers compare and when will the peak power be.

One more thing, I know they dont have a choke system, what kind of problems have any of you inccured?

I belive most people install smaller dual webers, (36's 40's) because you get top end gain with minimal low end loss that most single large webers give. I've never heard of dual 48's though. that would be overkill. Maybe on a PP or something. I havnt crossed this bridge yet, this is just what i've read so correct me if im wrong.

Dual 48s would definitely be overkill on a street port 12a or 13b. I've been running a single 48IDA on my streep port 13b for a year. It makes big power but the lack of a choke means you have to let it warm up before going out to drive it in anything colder than about 50F. I'm swithing to FI though to get more power in the low range.

The Weber's for sale now.

Being pedantic its a single IDA as the IDA is a twin choke design.

Worth bearing in mind here is that, with the advent of DIY EFI computers like Megasquirt, you can get an IDA based fuel injection system for way less than the RB inlet plus carb.

Matt the hitman had this setup on a 12A with a mild streetport and was reporting IIRC 180RWHP (australian horses, so maybe 200 dynojet horses).
