Webber Side Draft DCOE 48s

For those of you running 48s with a stock ported 13b motor, what size main jets are you guys running?

I found my carb was shipped to me with 180s in. I borrowed 170s and swapped them in but both were too rich. I'm now going to have to buy jets and I would like to buy only what I need and not every size inbetween. Some input on your jets and setup would be helpful.

Thanks
P.S. This is on a GSL-SE

Good point. Also search for an old thread that I started, lots of good links and info in there. Search again after that in the race section. Several threads there about this subject.

My quick thought. You need f11 emulsion tubes, then it's trial & error. Where you too rich at idle? or too rich at 5000+ rpm?

Not sure.

Air Correction Jets = 160
Emulsion Tube = F11
Main Jet = 160
Idle Jet = 55 F8 or 65 F8, the stamps aren't great.

Idle seems fine. Its right when you go full throttle any time below 4k. Once its at higher RPM full throttle is good.

Thanks

Sounds like the idle jets are too rich. I'd have to look it up buy I think your on the idle jets to about 3000+ rpm.

Your carb comes from the factory with 37mm chokes/venturies.

You might call Robert at rotaryshack.com he is the resident weber guru. You do need to know what that idle jet is. Just do what I did and get several sizes and see what happens.

FWIW my 48 DCO is rich as well and I'm waiting on Robert to finish my 48 IDA, full race prep and ported intake manifold. Then we shall have some real HP.

Thanks.

I was just hoping to narrow down the options in jets so I didn't waste too much money buying all different flavors/sizes.
