Yeah it's a Weber alright. Maybe a 48 or 44 IDA. Perfect for a Cartech turbo setup.

there's no way that puppy would bolt up to a stock intake... you need the proper intake too....

It's actually an IDF Weber.

They don't make manifolds to fit the IDF, mostly just the IDA.

Naw, I have not even taken good pics of it yet.

Nothing really special, except the custom exhaust leak.

Darn! I was hoping to get a look at your finished setup. I too have a Cartech/Weber 40 IDF intake system (not yet installed).

Do you have any performance numbers on your setup?

I can take some quick pics if you like today and TRY and post them later.

My dyno sucked *** since my trailing plug holes are stripped and I am losing compression, at least that is my excuse.

I dynoed 185 at 6800 on 8 lbs., since then I have gotten a lightweight flywheel, Jacobs Pro Pak and turned the boost up to 12lbs.

The car is alot quicker now, but I won't dyno again till I get a new motor.

This system is supposed to put out some good numbers, but mine doesn't, hopefully yours does.

What jets are you running in your IDF?

Mine are:

165 main
28mm venturis
f11 emulsion
130 air
55 idle

The only thing I remember off hand is F11 E-Tube and 220 main, which I'm now using on my IDA N/A setup.

Yeah a little rich, I know. I was using an OZ DIY-WB meter and ran 11-12's air fuel ratio, which would be god for turbo, but too rich for N/A. I planned on leaning it out some but I didn't have enough time to play with the WB meter (returned it to it's righful owner).

BTW you may want to monitor your A/F ratio (wideband) as I think your main jets are too lean... even for a 12A.

When I dynoed, I was at about 13 in low rpms and 11 in high, so I am safe.

I have an A/F meter, but wideband is the only true measure.

when you dynoed you were at full throtle you're too lean for crusing with idle jets that small you lean out too much while at a cruise. if you ever notice a surge at about 2500-4k rpms its a lean surge

No surging at low rpms, I learned to look for that when I read the Racing Beat catalog a long time ago.

About the only thing that bothers me is after I get on it through a couple of gears, my motor seems to not run crisply for the next minute or so. The throttle is not responsive and it sounds like the motor is underwater.

If I rev it, it seems to clear, I am thinking it is flooding since the fuel pressure is high then drops back down.

Any ideas?

When I dynoed, my main was 155 and the air was 120, since then I went 10 larger on both.

I am not going to dyno again till I get my new motor installed.

Hopefully I am putting out close to 240 right now, who knows?
