weatherstripping

the weatherstripping inside my door window rails is driving me nuts. As the windows are rolled up they tend to want to 'jump the track'. The left window does it only in the last cm or so before closing, but the right window is adamant on staying on the inside of the seal strip, not in the centre groove.

I'm thinking a solution would be new (and therefore not as pinched, warped, and otherwise distorted) weather stripping - comments or suggestions?

Mine did the same thing. I got two regulators from a junkyard, fixed both windows perfectly. The problem seems to be the center pivot on the window regulator wears and gets lots of slop it it, causing windows not to track properly. You can get them from mazdatrix, but they are $$. Don't forget to lube them up w/ heavy grease. Hope this helps!

Just did both my window channels. Found it easiest to remove the glass when putting them in. But still had a problem jumping track if I rolled it down to far. So i took a round file and elongated the adjustment hole towards the front of the to make a tighter fit. Took white grease in a spray can lubed the channels and linkage pivots. Been fine ever since. I am glad I did this first before jumping into buying regulators.

BTW is the rail/stripping available from an aftermarket supplier, or is this one of those things where Mazda charges you a few hundred bucks for a piece of rubber?

Right, weatherstripping is easiest to replace, do that first. If that no workee, find a junkyard for regs, they hit me for $75 for both. The yards only a mile from my house, and no other rex's within an hour from here.
Gotta pay for convienence, I guess.

check www.mazdatrix.com for weatherstrip. that's where i got mine and they tend to be a lot cheaper than the dealer.
