Water temperature gauge inoperative, coolant light on?

hey guys... my dashboard lit up telling me the exaust overheat... add coolant...and my temp gauge isnt working... anybody have any ideas...thanks

have you changed any thing on you car? carb? timing? you could be running realy rich with a bad cat.

Check the alternator belt. You lose that, and all of the idiot lights will light up on the dash.

bad or weak grounds will do it too .... my 79 add coolant light fades in and out when its cold outside .

no cats on car strait pipe, havent done any big changes in a while ....do have a dellorto carb put that on over a year ago tho.. and the alternator belt is still on...

Are you low on coolant?

Probably your ground connections need cleaning.

nope water level is good and that prong is conected
