Water Pump Question
I've been trying to run down a small cooling leak - changed hoses, etc... I think I've traced it to the water pump. From what I understand, there are two seals, one between the two pump housings, the other between the pump and the engine. Should I pull the housings apart, or is it worth $50 of time and effort to replace the pump itself? Also, what kind of labor time am I looking at?
I've been reading through several threads - is it correct that the damned eccentric shaft goes through the pump?! I'm having heart palpitations...
Thanks for any feedback!

Mind as well get a new pump while you're at it...save yourself the headache of having to do it all over again. The airpump and alternator are mounted onto the waterpump so those have to be removed as well as the fan and pulley for the A/C belt if your car has that. Use new gaskets and a good amount of hylomar when reassembling then torque to specs.
No the eccentric shaft does not go through the pump .. so relax
