Question water/oil temp opinions

I would like to get opinions on what maximum water and oil temp should be.

How hot can they get before my warning lights should go off?

How high do they have to get to cause damage?

It says in the MazdaComp Book, 195 F for water and I believe 205 F for oil.
I'll check again tonight.

if the water temp goes over 110C/240F you're on your own. oil is maybe 240F too, high oil temps are less instantly catastrophic though. too high on the water temp, and the coolant seals fail

crispins numbers are more for like max power.

Right.
Personally, i like to keep my water under 200 F. Oil under 250 F for street use, and 210 F at the track.
Jesse Prather(Guru in Topeka) says he always has bearing failure above 220 F. Talking oil of course on the race track..

Can't get a picture, but this is exactly what my Competition Manual says:
Water(Outlet Side): Normal Range - 160-195 F Maximum - 205 F
Oil Temp(Oil Pan): Normal - 195 - 230 F Maximum - 250 F

I was way off. I suck ***.
The maximum for oil is a little high IMO if you're on the track.

Excellant information, Everything I needed to know to set up my new warning lights,Thanks!

The most pleasing part is that my system is keeping my temps well below those stated above even when blasting through up the mountain @Deals Gap or sitting in a traffic jam with the ac on.

Thanks again!
