Swap to an 84/85 tank with a drain, maybe. I am. It's actually easy if you leave the entire filler neck assembly attached to the tank.

Theres no drain plug in the early 1st gens? Strange. You could always unhook the fuel line and put a bucket under it and let the pump get all that **** out. That should work

Yeah, there was no drain plug on my '80. I had to drop the tank and dump it out after the car sat for 10 years. No drain on the radiator, either. Even the manual says to disconnect the lower hose to drain the radiator. Easier to disconnect the heater hose at the bottom of the radiator. Wierd. -WG

Ever notice on the bottom of the engine's middle housing? Thats the drain for the coolant...

Well anyways, if you just have some water in there, and its not because its set for a while, why not let the fuel pump do the work

Unhook the line near the motor, and run a section of hose to a bucket or such, and let the fuel pump pump it all out

All 3 of my 83's have drain plugs, so it was most likely SA's only that had no plug.

Nah, the alcohol will mix with the water hopefully (its hygroscopic) and it will go thru the fuel system.
