Water leak

Hey
When ever it rains i get water in my car and it seems to be coming from a black sphere looking thing under the passenger side dashboard but i dont really know what it is
Anyone else had this problem?

Also is it bad that the emissions control system box has rust on it and that it has a Mitsubishi logo?

im confused as to where the leak is coming from... if its behind the dash on the passenger side, i think the ac evaporator drain tube is over there and i could be clogged..

Black "spherical thing" is prob the heater motor. Its attached up under the wiper area outside - maybe a leak in its mounting gasket up there? Or - have you had a recent windshield change out? leaking windshield?

that seems like a more reasonable thing

The windshield has not been changed

I'm dealing with a similar, but worse problem in my GSLSE. Here are a few pictures inside the cowl area in front of the dash. This windshield was just replaced and I found several rust holes in the area at the base of the windshield. I repaired those, but found I still had serious water leaking into the car from under the dash. 1st 3 pictures are of the right (US passenger) side. The 4th picture is of the left (US driver) side. I hope your problem is not as severe as mine.
