Water Leak

I hope I put this in the right place. I have a leak somewhere in my 79. After it rains the driver’s side rear quarter panel has water in it.

So I check the taillights and gaskets. Light covers are good gaskets trashed. I cleaned everything up and installed new gaskets. I checked the drains. The two in the corners open. The middle on is clogged. I will clean this one out. Gasket around rear hatch needs replacing but its no to bad.

Like most everyone else in the south today there has been a steady rain for the last 20 hours or so. So I checked when the rain stopped. And still I have water in the quarter panel. I can see nothing wet or any area that’s looks like the water came through.

HELP!!!!!! I have to stop this leak be fore I can start restoring. Does anyone have any idea where I should look? Has anyone had this problem and figured out how to fix it? That’s in advance for any help your can provide.

Look at the bases of the hatch, there is a drain hose right by the lastch, it runs down and exits behind the right rear wheel. It is likely that there is no avenue for it to run out and that is why it is filling up

Do you have a sunroof? If so, check those drains too.

No sun roof....so no holes there. I foudn three drains around the hatch. The drain in each corner is good. The middle drian is clogged. Does this drain hose run to the drivers side as well?

Thanks Everyone...

Drag out the garden hose. Without a nozzle and with low water pressure, start at the lower part of the body and work your way up until you find where it's coming in. If you can't find anything, get underneath it.
