It wasn't the ignitor after all...

So yeah... My RX-7 is in storage still.. but the church is repaving the parking lot, so I had to move it off the pavement for a day or three.

About a year ago, the car just quit starting. Traced it to dead leading ignition.

A while ago, I scored a couple ignitors... Ahem, Ignition sensors... $5 from the junk yard.

Swapping ignitors out didn't fix it.

As it turns out all four ignitors worked in the trailing position, none worked in the leading position...

As I found out, you can test ignitors by passing a screwdriver past the magnetic pickup... (Remove distributor cap, rotor, and metal plate.) Leading magnetic pickup was dead.... Swapped them out and it runs. So does the tach... Tach runs off the leadingignition on my car...

It ran decently, but a bit rough. MMO used to store the engine burned off for a while... Pics later. Probably need new spark plugs, cause after it warmed up, I tapped the gas and it died. Didn't start again. Probably flooded.

Anyone got a magnetic pickup they can send me, or do I need a hwole freakin distributor? Time to go get some more "sensors"...
