For a someone cheapish swap out you can get some FC base model seats and put them in the GSL-SE, should nearly bolt right up, my seats were swapped out by the previous owner and the holes had to be wallowed out a tiny bit but I'm quite happy with them and being 6'7" they do allow for a little bit more room.

Um, I would go more for race type seats. What is the benefit of going with FC seats? I want to do seats this year, but do not see any advantage of FC seats unless my only goal is to add weight to my car.

I have seats from a Toyota Supra in my SA22. I had to fabricate some seat rails. I spent about 80 bucks total and about a day worth of work.

hmm... i think the fc seats are lighter then the fb seats.... when i took out my seats on my fb lord that **** was heavy... but my fc seats that i have in her now are lighter, you can really feel the weight difference between the two when you carry them... plus the fc seats feel much more comfy.... imo

can someone post pix of FC seats in thier FB? is it a straight bolt on or is there some modifications to get them to fit right? i have the leather GSLSE seats but they arent as comfy and my head hits the roof and the seating position is awkward.

Are the FC seats lower? I had a FC before and I swapped the seats out with Momos as my stock leather seats were heavy. However, if they sit lower than the FB seats, are a direct or slightly modified bolt-in, and the cloth ones are possibly lighter, then I too may be looking for a set until I can get some good race seats.

From what I understand, they sit about 1" lower and are very simple to bolt in (swap seat rails from fb seats to fc)...

I installed fd seats. Bitch of an install that I've never been happy with. Now I have to do it all over again. They were a bit lighter than the old seats though, but not worth the effort of trying to mount them into the car in my opinion...

Correct. I have an immaculate set of TII seats in my 83. The only thing you have to do is swap the seat rails from your old 1st gen seats onto the 2nd gen seats. No modification is required.

I second that. Those FD seats are, sad to say, garbage. Too small, too slippery and I was surprised at how little support they offered while still feeling stiff and uncomfortable. My *** was all over the place when I drove your car.

I saw an fb when I was in Texas (Chorpus Christi) that had seats in it out of a little Ford XLT stepside. They looked sweet. Also had the inflatable lumbar support, and the sides of the seat (hip) were electric adjustable as well as up,down, front, back. REALLY comfortable!

You'd need First Gen Seat rails or seat rails designed for first gens. I do know that Corbeau has seat rails available for their seats at $89 for the drivers side, model number #C22010L. the C being the price bracket for the rails.

http://www.soloracer.com/ so I've seen has some pretty decent prices on Corbeau seats and for someone like me who is 6'7" and 290lbs they are the only ones that make a bucket wide enough to fit me. I look to be getting one sometime in the future but until then I can say the FC seats do well as a cheaper alternative to spending loads on full blown buckets.

Pics attached are base model FC seats in an 84 GSL-SE with a smaller than stock Grant Wheel. Seats are moved ALL the way back [for sprited driving I can even move them forward a little] and slightly leaned back, don't pay attention the mess

im going to have to disagree, i've had all 3 generation seats in my 84 and i really like the 3rd gen seats they imho have great side supports and since they are smaller in width it makes for a great spot to hold drinks in the left rear corner behind the seat i will say it's not a easy install but still great feeling seats imho
