That 'poor car' lived its life on the race track. Sounds pretty damn good to me.

Well the car in that case has fixed headlights to reduce aerodynamic drag. It still looks pretty sad though.

Guys, its a race car....its supposed to be unique. I wouldn't want that style of lights on my car personally, but I don't think it is that far out of style for that type of car.

Well since we are being picky, and because this is your first post, you are also wrong. $.02 is correct, or 2c. 0.02c is one fiftieth of a cent.

Back on subject, ugly...yes, functional on a racecar...also yes. I doubt any first gen owners (well maybe some) would spend money on this, considering most only paid a few hundred dollars for their cars.

that headlight design is only possible on a track car - you'll notice the lights go down to where the bumper would be. Not only would you have no bumper in the event of an accident, your lights would be lower than regulation and therefore a ticket magnet

This car my friends is the 1982 Mazda RX-7 254 that raced at Le Mans. The car number 82 came in 14th overall, with an average speed of 160km/h, or about 100mph. Qualifying lap was 4'04"74, average speed was 200.431 km/h. The wheight of the car was 960kg. The 2nd car was number 83 and retired after 13hours 42minutes, due to fuel system problems.
I still love the car, but wouldn't go for those lights on my own car though...
