Hey I love RX-7s as much as anybody, but let's come back to earth. Vipers pull about a 1g without any mods -- one of the best roadholding cars available. A stock FB is nowhere near that. In addition, the Viper has hellacious camber gain built into the suspension. Translation: it wears the tires evenly on a race course, so that cornering ability doesn't fall off as the laps go by.

The Viper's Tremec is a pretty stout box. Same basic one used on the Vette Z06. I think you'll be waiting a while for that tranny to fail.

Nice but your headlights and front panel look like they need realignment!

Get that fixed up and the front end pics will look pretty sexy.

depends what year the earlier ones shared the same tranny as the v10 trucks where also the ones standard with the v8's bad bad news for those. I am talking about the late 90's ones! Regardless vipers are over rated i would take the z06 and pocket the extra 20g's for sure.

I think FBs go better with Porsche 911s.

And Vipers do kick ***, I had the chance to drive an SRT-10, that was the most ridiculous car I've ever driven.

I was joking, i know how good both vipers and corvettes are in terms of g's, and performand for money. trust me i do, I've had the oppurtunity to drive the 07 z06.

i was simply mocking them, becuase i am not a fan in any way shape or form. Just my opinion. but i do realize how good they are.

And i do not want to get into another flaming war over american muscle.

EDIT: I'm also aware of how bad our cars are compared to anything newer and more expensive than them. As well I'm not only a fan of Mazda's, but more of the exotic cars than american muscle. Just the way i was raised.

Sorry for upsetting you people that love american muscle

vette must be garbage as well. come on we are talking about cars that are 25 years newer in desighn and performance and cash flow. that viper could smoke a fb in almost every aspect. Once again i love my fb but i am not egotistical to think are cars are god like. You cant be a car guy and only like mazdas lol

Just saw you post duely noted!

rx7

The motor was just put in, and the front end is not bolted or aligned. Still needs to go for paint.

Both cars are great just totally different. I had a GSL in 1985 when I was in high school,so decided to build the RX-7 that I always wanted.

The mazda can hold its own on the twisties, probably out handle the viper with the mods it has. As for power it takes alot to beat the GTS,but will see.

I've had a few sports cars that can easily outrun and out handle my Rx-7, heck, a run of the mill sedan today will outperform these things.

But at the end of the day, it's the Rx that I prefer to drive. No modern car has the unfilterd, raw mechanical experience of the 1st gen. New cars are so isolated and heavy that they almost shouldn't be called sports cars anymore. Sure, they have incredible amounts of power and handling, but they've lost their simplicity.

I've got a Porsche that's been widely regarded for it's feedback and handling balance by every magazine I've ever read, but it's just not as much fun to drive as the Rx. I'd be willing to bet that the Viper is the same way.

rx7

I want to go with a deep black.

Yes, I love the RX7 for the simplizity of it. They dont make cars like it anymore.

Cant wait to have it on the road.

The flair kit as an old imsa race body from the 70s,80's. Very hard to come by and
$$$ if you find one in good shape.

I got in running recently just sorting out the suspension, brake and tunning
