Thumbs up VIDEO **** CRans TII FB vs 350Z at the strip

I raced a coworker at the track. This was the second race between us. The first one was a little closer. It was his frist time at the track for him.. i let him run serveral times and told him when your ready to run just let me know!! his car has a k&N and intake spacer... He swore he was going to beat me...
My best time of the night was a 14.19 and his was a 14.60 ... I really thought those are 350z's were faster than that stock, so did he!!!!! He was not to happy about the outcome!!

Hands down smoked that tub-O-lard!

Nice job!
I dont know how long youve had your setup, but low 14's is exactly where I started out with my S4 TII swap. With a little experience/practice and keeping about 10psi,I whittled it down to about 13.8's.Then,when I took the boost up to about 14psi and maxxed out the stock S5 turbo,I was getting 13.5's consistantly. At that point, keeping traction with street 205-15's was the biggest problem.

Yeah, I would have expected a little more from both cars. More to the effect of high 13's. What were the track conditions like other than apparent ones seen in the vid?

That being said, you really cleaned him up!

My feelings exactly (see my first post)

With a good number of runs under your belt, you should be able to launch and drive your car to some mid 13's all day long, without running the boost up to the levels I was hitting.I cranked the boost up because I wanted to get a quick as possible in the short amount of time I had at the track. With all the posers around here, your lucky to get 2 runs a week on Wednesdays at Sears Point.
I have about 20 official runs down the track in my car,and I havent been back to the track since late 01'. With regular runs and familiarity on your side, you can easily shave .5 or .7 off that time.....

You guys should come visit the little hole in the wall 1/8th mile track I go to. 10 bucks to get in and you can literally go from the finish line back to staging and have no more than 5 cars in front of you. They run one lane for street tires, the other for slicks.

The 350Z is SLOW in stock form. They are a pig, just like the previous 300ZX was. The car weighs in at 3600lb for god sake. My fully loaded 97 T-Bird is only 3700lb. The 350Z is really nothing spectacular IMO. Just another overweight "sports car" from Japan. Seems thats the way things are going. Car companies just don't know how to keep weight down anymore.

Anyway, nice car though. I assume you are running close to stock boost. What kind of tires do you have? Didn't seem like you had too much in the form of traction loss. I half expected more slippage in 2nd.

Things were so slow one Wed. nite for test and tune, 3 guys put on helments and had bets who could beat who in a foot race. Scorekeeper even posted times on the board at the end of the track. Saw the vids of it a couple of days later, funny as hell.
