Are Victoria British parts factory parts?

I'm looking at the Master and Slave clutch cylinder in Victoria British, and they're cheaper than the parts Auto Zone is showing me...Are these factory parts, or are the ones at Auto Zone/Advance better?

The only place I know of to get ORIGINAL, AUTHENTIC, Mazda OEM parts is the dealer or Mazdatrix...

Everything else is aftermarket, remanufactured, or used.

I'd wager they're equal...

Check that thread. See what kinda price they have to offer.

They don't have Tokico which is a brand I trust for hydraulics, but they do have Beck/Arnely, which is a major brand, so should be trust worthy.

I can tell you the slave cylinder I bought from NAPA was made in Italy and the freggin' push rod was installed backwards from the factory. Also- the whole exterior of the bugger rusted SOLID in 2 weeks. It is an eyesore in my engine bay (Sounds like a Fiat, does'nt it?)

I would ASK where the parts are mftg'd, IMO.

Again, I bought Tokico (Comes in a yellow box covered in black text.) Worked great from the get go and is just starting to rust after three YEARS of sitting.

Some of the parts are factory mazda....most are not, but the sources are mostly impeccable, like Bosche and Warner World Parts....all of the stuff is good, however. The '83 washer bottle cap is the only thing I have bought so far from them that was disappointing. It's not the same "milky white" color as the new washer bottle, which was also bought from VB and an excellent piece.

They're a good source and can be trusted.

Anyone have experience with their master and slave clutch cylinders?
I heard one person say it rusted really quick in another thread, but as far as durability it seems good?

Has anyone else had any experience ordering from Rockauto? Anyone know anything about Beck/Arnley parts?

I am putting the finishing touches on my clutch hydraulics episode for another thread. I don't know about the master cylinder, but the rebuild kit for it was fantastic quality, better than the factory stuff I bought in the past that I used to rebuild the clutch hydraulics in my now-deceased 1980 RX-7. I bought the clutch slave cylinder for the recent job outright since it was only marginally more money than the rebuild and saved some steps. I painted and clear-coated it, standard procedure for me, so I don't think I'll have a rust problem. It was also a very, very nice piece especially considering how little it actually cost....

Yeah, the brake/clutch master cylinders are definitely not OEM Mazda. Not sure about the quality. I might try them out but if the OEM Mazda ones aren't too much more, then I'll get the Mazda.

The other VB parts are of questionable quality but mainly the interior trim/carpet stuff.

RockAuto owns...

Search for the word "Enjoy" and use my name as the author and you'll finda thread in the lounge for a 5% discount.

The local Imported Auto parts chain sells Beck/Arnely... They're pretty good stuff.

Like I said:

Remember Advance has to pay for rent/mortgage on all their properties (Stores, administrative offices, warehouses, etc.), plus utilities... The $8.50 an hour the sales people and clerks get... Distribution from warehouse to all the stores... Advertizing, etc etc etc...

RockAuto has to pay for a single large warehouse, some shipping people, and an internet connection...

I would wonder too. Recently I bought new hatch lifts. I talked to people at three stores in town. All of them had different prices ($33, $40, $50). All of them gave me the same manufacturer and part number.

At both of the more expesive places I said "okay, I'll just get them at X because they are cheaper." Both of the places said "let me check my computer" then they said "I can match that price".

It pays to shop around. Once you start getting into different manufacturers it gets tough but I've learned to always phone around first.

I got all the brake parts for my 85GSL from www.rockauto.com and they're great. Beck/Arnley has been around a long time and their parts have been good for me. Got a B/A water pump right in front of me that looks excellent all around: ready to install.

Www.DriveWire.com sells some OEM parts, and have been competitive price-wise from what I've seen. The downside is that their selection is limited.
