Victoria British: no more RX-7?

this may be an old topic, but here goes.

a few weeks ago, i was on the vic brit site and signed up for a free rx-7 catalog. since it should have been here by now, i decided to go back to their site and try ordering another or calling them.

strangely enough, i didn't see any info on the rx-7 in their website. did they decide to quit being a rx-7 parts carrier? if so, does anyone have any other recommendations on where to get parts from?

thanks,
nate

Only thing black dragon sounds a little to ricey for an OEM parts carrier, or is it just me?

If you have 2005 FALL EDITION RX.36, you have the most recent one. i just spoke to them two days ago about an upcoming order I am placing. They seem to be very curtious, and helpfull with any thing you need. They will tell you up front if something is back ordered or no longer available.

The new catalogue should be out very soon. I was in KC last week and stopped by VB just to drop in. New guy behind the counter was not a 7 guy at all. In fact I think he was bored that someone came in and bothered him.

I stopped there to ask about thier widebody kit, which looks identical to mine. Hidden agenda was to ask if they would be interested in putting my car on the cover of one of thier upcoming issues. The guy was such a bored dick, I walked out.

There used to be a kid behind the counter, Tom I think was his name, that was a die hard 7 owner. If 2 or more 7's showed up at the same time, he would have all of us line up so he could take pics. Super nice kid, knew his ****, I was very sorry to see him leave.

I agree, the Black Dragon thing sounds a little ricey. I hate to think how much they probably paid for market research for the name. The owner can afford it, he used to have one of those Mercedes AMG 55's or whatever it was.

Kevin,

I found the dizzy wires at the local yard, bought them, then laid them down while we pulled the hood off of another car. They have a couple more 1st gens there. Whenever your ready for your conversion, let me know and I will pick another one.

I just got my new catalogue yesterday and saw the new name. I was just over at the store last weekend picking something up and didn't notice the new name at all. From the new name, I'm guessing there's going to be some new emphasis on japanese imports.

There's a younger guy working there that has a couple 2nd gens - I think he posts somewhere on this site.

Well my guy behind the counter wasn't your guy when I was there. I commented to him that he wasn't really into 7's and he said no, he wasn't. Sucks making the trip over there in rush hour traffic to find someone behind the counter that would rather be somwhere else.

I did blow by a guy in a raggedy looking 2nd gen on 435 on the way home. Thought he was going to break his poor neck gawking at the widebody, that made the side trip worth it

While I like the idea of an online cataloge, and ordering, they do not yet have everything listed on the web.
I am guessing they started the new name for the mazda rx7 and nissan z/zx line because no one would think about a company called "Victoria British" having Japanese car parts. They have had the LMC name for the truck parts for a while, and are probably looking to expand into more Japan cars in the future. Black Dragon "Sorta" implies a japanese company.........

I was just worried when I thought that VB was no longer carrying RX-7 parts. I freaked out, "oh no, now i get to always go to pick and pull" i said.
