Arrow Vibration going over 25 mph!!!!

ok here we go....last night my car started to make a vibration noise (only heard inside the car).....it seemed like you were in an airplane taking off and your ears were adjusting to the pressure increse, it was kinda deafening (i hope that made sense)...anyways....it kind felt like i had a flat tire...but no, tires look ok.......the dash...shifter and that whole area is vibrating alot....i know it could be any number of things but i need your help to narrow the reasons down.....i haven't takin the car to a tire place to check the tires yet because i am about to go to work (and tommorow i'll be at work all day as well)..so i gotta go until monday (which sucks)...i hope its just the tires but i don't know......the engine runs fine...the tranny (and clutch) shifts fine as well...those parts are ok.....i don't think its the mounts either (but i could be wrong)...i dont know it seems like its coming from the tires or the suspension.......any ideas guys?

It most likely is your tires. When was the last imte they were balanced or the last time they were changed or rotated. The only other thing would be a motor mount that i could think of, i wouldnt be a trans mounts b/c thta would make a *clunk* when you shift

did you have your sun roof out? i drove mine last year with the sunroof out and it howled like a banshie.... its the wind flowing into the car and getting trapped in the back hatch... sounded like my car was about to fall apart.... then i remembered i forgot to put the little wind diffuser in ... that little piece that is slanted upwards to make the wind flow up over the hole in the roof... i hope that helps

Check your tires, lug nuts, and drive shaft.

i don't know pimp, it really felt like a balance issue. Can you explain your drive shaft issue though so we can see the symptoms you had, or how we can ispect his to find out.

Alright,

I could show you pictures of my old driveshaft's u-joints but it would serve no justice as to the damage that was done to this thing.

You're supposed to have a little bit of play in the u-joints right, not in this one, you could almost turn it in any direction you wanted, I'm suprised it didnt come off to be honest.

My vibration would happen over 40 MPH and wouldn’t get better until I got really high up in the MPH range and even then it was highly noticeable...

MY advice, get a new driveshaft from Mazdatrix, fixed my problem real quick.

I had my shaft balanced a few years back after I got the rumbles in the *** end. Replaced the joints because of all the miles on them, but the shaft was the ticket.

Going from forward to reverse, do you hear any kind of clunking sound? Since it happened so suddenly, and you are experiencing it at such a low speed, I'm not convinced its the driveshaft.

As stated above, check your lugnuts and tire pressure...

Also, is it a shaking feeling, or is it kind of a wobble? A slipped belt in a tire will feel like a side to side wobble at low speeds (remember the old clown cars with the egg-shaped wheels?). Then it will just vibrate at higher speeds.

Good luck with it....

u-joints should have NO play in them, even the smallest play in them should be a replacement

I'm convinced it's the driveshaft, he's describing the same problems I have, now I still have a vibration over 80 MPH due to the tranny mount being shot me thinks but that'll be fixed soon enough.
