What year is your RX7? Some RX7s drive shafts (like the 84&85 GSL-SE) didn’t have serviceable u-joints thus the reason for aftermarket from mazdatrix.

I had a similar thing in both my 81s. Both times after the U joints had been replaced. Car 1: vibrated after Us replaced by dealer so got a new complete shaft/Us (still running smooth). Car 2: Had joints replaced once w/ no problems but the 2nd time (just because I thought I heard a "clunk"-dumb ****) even balancing the shaft wouldn't help vibration so got a used shaft set up (still running smooth). My conclusion is: replacing just the Us, even when done by experienced professional mechanics is "iffy". But when it works, its a cheap fix. HOWEVER, Us going bad only caused a "clunk" for me - never vibration.

Mine started giving a vibration in the wheel and made a sound like a studded winter tire. I jacked up the front, turned each wheel to find the noise coming from the right front. Replaced the bearing an it's all good now. Jack yours up and see, if nothing, jack up the rear and turn the rear wheels with the trans in neutral (engine off) to see if you hear anthing from the diff or a clocik or clatter from a u joint.
