That looks great Renesis! I have an engine being rebuilt now and I asked them to strip the old paint off the housings & front cover. They told me they use Vapor Honing and it's great to see how beautiful yours turned out.

Since this is just raw aluminum .. I would suspect it will corrode again over time.

I might consider refinishing in Cerkaote as close to the aluminum colour as possible.

Tbose turned out amazing! I agree with coating them to prevent oxidation. Its a perfect alternative to sandblasting for soft metals! I imaging it would work great on any metal surface though!

This was a "try before you buy" exercise. I was very impressed with the results as well. I would have to weigh the costs of purchasing the equipment vs. paying someone else to do the work for me.

Ideally I would love to get into vapor honing and cerkoting as a retirement hobby .. to go hand-in-hand with rebuilding and refurbishing rotary engines.

I do my own media blasting (coal slag) and powder coating. I think it would be pretty easy to build a wet soda blaster v.s. buying one. This too will be my retirement hobby soon,
