VAC + distributor routing q

Hello,

I have a '79 with a racing beat intake and holly carb. There is a single vacuum hose connected to brake booster from the intake manifold. Now, there is no vacuum line connected to the vacuum advance on the distributor.

My question, can I just cut the vacuum hose and put a t-connector and split the vacuum to the distributor and brake booster? Thanks!

no. the vac signal for the dist needs to be varible with rpm. there should be a fitting on the metering plate on the primary side of the carb. it'll have a rubber cap on it. that is where the vac adv on the dist should be connected.
