Exclamation Urgent Watts Link Question!!!

Ok, so when I went to re-install my differential today I attached the watts link just how it was, but after putting it most of the way in I got thinking that it was weird that theres only one washer on it to hold the bushing in (on the outside), and on the differential side there isnt really a face for the bushing to ride on, just a little gap and then the diff. I borrowed $100T2's picture (hope you dont mind) to show what I mean.

Anyways, now my concern is, that since the bushings I got are 2 piece, the one closest to the differential can sorta slide out of the watts link housing if it really wanted to. Now is this a worry? should I find another big washer to put on that side or not worry about it??? I just dont terribly want it to slide out towards the differential, leaving only the outter one to do the job.

Now looking at it, there most certainly isnt enough room for it to come out enough to make anything loose, but if it did decide to come out it might chew itself down in the center over time. I really hope I dont have to go back at this after all the work I just did, so unless this is a big no no its staying like it is. *Crosses fingers*

loose wats link means less likely to bind look at it like a good thing. The older and soggier the bushings the better...

but they're better when they're old dry and crusty. as long as there is no linear play of the axle the worse off the bushings in the watts and upper arms the better it will handle.

I just thought it was weird that it wasnt sandwiched in like all the other bushings. That seemed odd. These didnt ever come from the factory with a washer on the diff side right? I want this install to be trouble free so if anyone thinks its gonna be an issue id like to hear their opinion. I am using energy suspension poly in the 2 piece design. I am not worried about binding as Ive taken everything into consideration, this is simply a question of whether this bushing is gonna stay in there.

The BlackDragon online catalogue shows nut, lock washer, flat washer, watts link, bracket:

The VB/BDA catalogs are great for figuring out how to reassemble suspension pieces.

Yah, I was 90% positive there never was a washer on the diff side, but in the black dragon catalog the diff has a nice flat seat that would hold the bushing in, while in the real picture or on the real thing there is that little collar like thing that will hold the little pipe shaped center of the bushing in, but not actually the side of the bushing. I guess thats how it goes, just seems a little unusual!

When you put it on put on make sure full weight is even on the rear suspension when you tighten all rhe rear suspension nts or it won't settle even or allign correctly.
