5/19 Updates:
V8kilr- I will just be using a lb of spun dacron as my filler. You can find it at any fabric store.

Here are pics of the top half. Ask and yee shall receive.

I have never done the flush fit trim ring design so I have a question.

Once your glass is all laid out arent you worried about air leakage around the trim ring ?

The reason I ask is because all of the fiberglass boxes I have done the speaker sits on top of the fiberglass (i.e. not flush) your box looks like the fiberglass will end right around the speaker, not under it like mine.

Then I noticed you taped off the ring to not get resin on it, I thought you would be trying to get resin on it to help seal where the felt ends.

Your setup is a much nicer and cleaner look but I have always been undecided on weather or not air would leak.

Very nice. I'm surprised that you got that much volume out of that box. It doesn't really look that big. Should sound great though. Are you porting it or leaving it sealed?

The trim rings exactly what it says. It does not have anything to do with the mounting of the sub. It is just a build up around the mounting ring 3/4" high so the sub sits flush on the enclosure. It actually helps with the ealing of. The only hard thing is getting the sub out.
The enclosure will be sealed later. I do not want any resin getting on the bear wood that the sub mounts aginst. I.E. no air leeks.

That looks very nice, mad skillz

The only downside will be having that speaker slammin into the rear glass, when I had a single 15 firing into mine years back, I had to add a thin seal on top of the stock seal and really compress the hatch to close it. otherwise when the bass hit the hatch kept moving and actualy rattled, the second seal solved this, and that baby pounded!

Looks good though, can't wait to see it completed!
