Replace it. I'm sure someone around here has a spare they can toss your way for a few coins.

I had to do mine because it was rusted and would have eventually eaten through.

Aright guys, after all, i found out the clamp that holds the runner hose to the metal one near the hood latch(top of engine bay) was loose. Tightened it up and no leaks. So thats fixed. Well, so another problem, I startup car, sounds good, and everything, but when i put the choke in all the way the car dies when it gets below 1k rpm. I'll try and keep it up but its like late respone. I'm thinking the carb needs rebuilt or something? Also, pretty much every gear when i floor it it like bogs. This problem has just happened after fixing the other problems. Help guys, im almost there and i freaking can't wait to cruise around again(in manual). Should i just mess with the idle screw/mixture screw? oh and the car also bogs whenever it wants, but mainly when on gas pedal. also vibrates too. Thanks guys for helping me get through this. God bless

best bet is to re tune it, there is a good thread in the FAQ's that explains the step by step process.

I was also thinking maybe the fuel filter??? should i change that out, might as well, only like 5 bucks. Cause the car has been sitting for like 2 months before i ran it, think it could be clogged??

Replace all the cheap stuff before you even ask. Fuel filters, plugs, rotor, and anything else thats yearly maitenance. Then go from there. If its bogging it could be any of those things, including air trapped in the cooling system if it just started after you fixed that. Anyways.

new fuel filter on now. before i went and bought the fuel filter i started her up let up to operating temp drove it around the block a few times and pulled her back in the garage. then let off gas. she IDLED. it was rough, but she didn't die like before, I didn't do anything either. the idle was high, so i adjusted it to like 800 rpm and still little rough. messed with mixture and its a little better. Hopefully its ready.
