universal electric cooling fan question

What size cooling fan should i use?
Will 2 10" fans fit side by side on an sa radiator?
would 1 16" inch be better than 2 10"?
how hard would it be to run a thermostat so that they only kick on at a certain temp?

I live in missouri so its relatively warm and humid in the summer but the winter is pretty cold so i'd prefer they didn't run all the time so my car will warm up faster in the winter.

I went with a "twin" fan setup from a 1st gen MR2. It is very easy to mount it (see attached thread).

For controlling the fan, I used a unit I picked up from Autozone. Cost was about $18.00 and it has worked great. It has a little "torpedo" shaped sensor that you attach to the rear of the radiator, and a control **** where you adjust the point at which the fan turns on.

You have to do some very minor trimming to the shroud to clear the hoses but its easy if you have a cut off tool or a dremel or even a hack saw.

Here it is on my SA:
