Arrow Underlights....

Anyone here have underlight kits on their car? I know it sounds ricey, but I like 'em and I'm thinking of putting a neon green one under my black fb.

Post pics of yours if you want.

My friends and i are going to do blue on my car.

Rather than getting a $200 neon tube kit, we are going to get the rope lights that you can screw together to make any lenght, and put them all the way around the vehicle, even uup through the wheel wells. it should look pretty sweet. Those rope lights put off a lot of light.

Are those lights legal to have anywhere while you're driving? Or do you all only intend to use them when parked?

No, they are not legal, but who gives a ****. hehe...

And yes, mwpayne, I was expecting someone to say that, but like I said, I don't care. I like them. Like ioTUS said, use it for show. Rice all depends on your point of view. I could call sixteen inch rims ricey, and it would have perfect validity. Although I do admire a smartass personality. <----I'm serious, no facitiousness indended.

Me friend got pulled over for LED windshield sprayer things... I told him it was a dumb idea... cost him quite a bit!

If my rex is glowing, there's something wrong!

But... don't get the neon tubes--get the rope lights (like what iotus said)--those are plenty bright and are easier to work with... and it looks pretty cool under my bed (my bed is ricer-ized!)

I'll make sure to go with the rope **** then.
Also, My rex will be glowing, just not while I'm driving, so I don't need to worry about paying tickets.

Underbody lights are a definate cop magnet, at least since Fast and the Furious. They label you as "street racer" to your local fuzz. Even if you use them only in public parking lots, don't be suprised to get pulled over more often.

okay, not only are underbody lights totally ghey and ricey, but they attract cop attention and make you look like a complete tool. Sorry, but its true. They improve performance in no conceivable way, add pointless weight, look terrible, and well... are utterly pointless.

but i dont think cops will be patrolling the parking lots and pulling you over while parked. SO long as you dont go showing them off when you think the cops arent looking while driving, i would imagine you would be fine.

i spoke to a police officer about the lights. he said strobes and led squiters are illegal because they distract the driver. He also said its illegal to have neon around the licence plate. However, he said underlights and wheel lights are ok. just thought i'd through that in.

In S.Florida, neon is popular. The new thing is LED tubes, that will never break, and give the same light.

Look into it.

This is true... my friend got pulled over for the wheel lights... it was his first ticket, too. I might add that i still have about 3.4 seconds of uncontrollable laughter whenever i see him.
As for teh underbody. Although i don't agree with it, there is no problem with it. It is like body kits... or a new paintjob... nope... it doesn't add performance to your car (unless you got a "more breathing" air dam) and a paintjob probably adds about 1.4412 pounds to the car. And that is really bad for performance and is really noticeable at the local drag strip, but as long as you can back up your show with your go, there is no problem with it. And that is just my .02

Iotus,

Those lights that you mentioned, don't give off too much light. I had to install that on a truck and they looked like christmas tree lights. The whole stick doesn't glow, so all you see is a blue rod with tiny lights every 1 or 2 inches. Neon kits are pretty cheap now anyways, but I'd worry crushing them with my car jack or rocks from the road.

Okay Captain Reject, adorn your vehicle with ricer lights and make yourself look like a rediculous Honda boy. I will enjoy laughing at you and your pathetic nonsense.
