Twin Pipe

Hey, anyone here know how to do a twin pipe setup on an RX-7 and where to possible get the pieces needed to set it? I think the car will look wicked cool w/ twin pipe exauhst and was just wondering if anyone here has done it before. The hardest part, as I see it, will be getting around the axle. Any help would be greatly appriciated.

It'd have to be a custom exhaust, probably using Racing Beat's pieces and parts 'cause the cheap pieces & parts from your local place will die from a rotarie's hot fumes.

But the deeper technical problems are that of flow: more is not necesarily better. Bigger volume can create flow problems. Also it'll be twice as heavy as a single system, and more power spent on weight is less used for acceleration.

I think he means exhaust tips on both sides of the rear, like a 2nd Gen.

Only way that I can see it done is removing the fuel tank and running a cell inside.

Again, more weight, without enhancing performance significantly over a single exhaust.

Just get a shop to hang a muffler there without plumbin the exhaust through it.... that will give you the same weight increase, the look of duals, and none of the problems of plumbing, or power loss from lack of flow.

Hey, that's a GREAT idea!
Maybe someone should make a lightweight plastic fake muffler with a nice chrome tip. It would be real lightweight, and could just be rubber banded on!
It could be called "Faux-muff", and come with a sticker with a cool logo! You could sell a million of 'em if you made 'em for Hondas!

Make 'em for Volkswagen Polo and Golf, Peugeot 206 and 306, Honda, Seat, ... and export them. I'll be the importer for Europe, and get so rich with them I'll soon be able to get my engine silver-plated instead of polished...
