Unhappy and the turkey bites back...

This is just totally unbelievable! If it weren't for bad luck...
I went to the store today and picked up a frozen holiday turkey. When I got home and lifted the turkey out of the rear, the handle holding it broke and *KABAM!!* that 18lb turkey fell about 8-inches right onto my rear spoiler! "Ka-thunk" it said. "Damn," I said, "sure glad it didn't hurt the car!" Then I looked at the bottom...

Omigawd!
After all these years, that ol' turkey finally got even! I'll have to pull the spoiler and see what repairs I can make. Little 'poxy here, little 'poxy there... should look like new...

Not so very long ago, I'd'a come unglued over a thing like this, but the new medication they have me on is so much better...

The smallest things can hurt what we cherish most. I mean, we never really think about things like a frozen turkey hurting our 7, but this kind of messed up **** happens...

ouch. even after its demise, that turkey got its revenge.

is that thing fiberglass? if it is you could just get a fiberglass kit, and stick fibers in the cracks. then seal it with resin. Im about to do that with the cracks in my airdam.

Use the good glue you get from NAPA to fix that. I happen to work there, so I spend alot of time being nosey. Theres stuff thats not suposed to be sold to customers, but you might get what you need if you tell them what it goes to. Try to find out how you wanna repair it first though. Why is there a black and orange bug crawling on my screen?.....

Hell, I stick my mountain bike in the back of my seven. There's a tiny rub mark from where something rubbed, but other than that I've been really lucky. Heh, you and your turkeys.

Hopefully repairing it won't be too bad... I think some Turkey hutning is definitely in order whenever hunting season rolls around again (I've got no clue).

Yeah, well thank you all for your concerns. I want you to know (before any tree huggers accuse me of frozen animal cruelty), right after that most unfortunate incident - I rushed that turkey to the emergency room to see if they could resuscitate it...

...SO I COULD KILL IT AGAIN!

And I have to comment on this one:

Just an update...

Got the spoiler off...

Might start something here. New "high flow, center draft" spoiler adds boost at highway speeds. I CAN FEEL THE POWA .......Or is that just the MMO in the go-go?
I see many threads asking "How much should I spend for a paint job?" You'll notice the new paint under the spoiler area. You don't get that with a budget paint job.

I use JB Weld for this kind of work and have had great luck with it. Strong and durable, but takes forever to cure. I don't trust the "4-minute" stuff.

Most of the heavy repair and reinforcment goes on the inside of the spoiler after it's been roughed up with a wire brush.
By the way, if any of you noticed the problems with uploading photos has gone away - you can thank inittab for that.
I'll stick another photo on this thread when the job's done...

I never noticed, but you have a trailer hook on the back of your RX-7? What on earth do you need to trailer? Sticky race tires? Nice work on the spoiler too.... sorry to hear about that turkey though... haha hope it tasted good!
