Lightbulb Turbo too big?

I have been thinking about installing a blow through turbo set up on my '85 12a. I have an Air Research T4 turbo sitting around and was wondering if it was too big for the 12a motor. I don't have the carb or manifold yet but I'm sure you guys could point me in the right direction.

there are lot'z of turbo people in here. have you ever thought about a supercharger?
they put out a lot of low end Torque. I gave some turbo guys a ride in my car @ 7 stock and I think they might have liked it ...

I have thought about a supercharger. I just happen to have the turbo here and needing a home. I have never seen a supercharger on a 7 before. Where did you get it?

wut are the numbers on the turbo?

for the compressor side should be around 0.60 - 0.70 and the turbine side 0.84 - 1.15

A turbo being too big would mean the turbo itself out weighs the vehicle.

I'd say it's just a bit too big for a stock 12a, it'll make a lot of power at high rpm, but you'll have no low end. It'd be perfect for a ported 12a though. I'd put it on there, but plan on porting your motor if you want the most out of it.

For a carb I'd use a weber 48dcoe.

Ok, the numbers I found were a .60 on the compressor side and a .58 on the turbine side. Do these make sense? Are they any good?

Is this weber carb something that will fit on a stock intake? Or do I need to change the whole intake setup. As for porting... are you talking about the intake and exhaust ports on the engine itself? One or the other? Keep in mind I am new to the rotary.

The A/R on the T4/ T76 I have is .96 and it spools up pretty quickly and creates GREAT boost.

Id first figure out how much rwhp youd like, then pic a compressor wheel that'll do it at a boost level your going to run. Once you figure that out( may take a minute) build an engine to spin it. Ive been playing with my setup for about 6months now, i think ive finally found what i like. I ended up with a T66, .70 compressor a/r and .81 turbine, running a Q trim exh wheel. Ive tried as small as a T04B S-3 trim and as large as a T72, the T04B spools great but just didnt have it in the higher gears. Next season i may go back to the T72 as the tuning gets closer. The guys on this forum will get you close, but in the end its what you like.
