Turbo Gsl-se Engine?!

I'm wondering what it would take to turbocharge the 13-B RE engine in the GSL-SE?

Possible? What does it take?

The SE has the heavier rotors, which make for a MUCH lower RPM torque peak. This makes the car a blast to drive around town. But, it could certainly use alot more than the stock 135 horsepower.

Anybody got any input?

there's a website that many ppl have done it before, i've heard that on the stock se engine u can use a stock turbo off a turbo II, however hooking up the turbo and manifold requires some modifcation due to the lower part of the intake being 2 close to the turbo housing when bolting it up

the gsl-se does not have a 13bRE motor, that is the motor in the 3rd gens
the -se just has a plain old 13b that is EFI....

i heard its a pain to turbo using the stock injection also..

It's not that hard. Get a turbo manifold (TII won't fit), turbo, fuel pump and a Cartech or Vortech FMU and you are good for 6 lbs!

because it sits the turbo too high and hits the lower intake manifold.

web777, i'm also curious... what parts did you all need.. could you list them, and also how much hp are you making, and how many kms on your engine.. rebuilt or original?

6lbs boost :

T2 turbo (stock is fine?)
turbo manifold (other than T2)(suggestions?)
Cartech or Vortech FMU (what settings?)
upgraded fuel pump (AND injectors??)
upgraded ignition?
intercooler required for 6psi or not?

I'm pretty excited for your setup, looks sweet.
Daryl

I have seen many write ups on putting the turboII turbo system on a GSL-SE.
Stop being so lazy, search for it in the forums and on the web.
You can use the stock TurboII system, I don't remember the details regarding the modifications neccessary but it was only a small amount of grinding in order for there to be clearance when bolting the manifold to the motor.
As far as everything else goes all you need is of course a downpipe welded up by a shop and a fuel pressure regulator so you can feed the injectors better. You can go up to 7 or 8 psi of boost with all stock stuff without having to upgrade the fuel pump, though a fuel pump upgrade is always a good thing.
Good luck with your project.

I can't. The turbo hits the actuators. I would've hooked it up to the manifild pressure if I was able to.
