shocks, excel G vs GR-2

i just wanted to know if they are the same shock, a shock with completely different valving, or just the next generation of the gr2 maybe? thanks for the input,
HULK

p.s. checkin' the invoice part number, it's the correct shock, but looking at the bodies (i have one good one here at my house already from the wrecked car i pulled all these pieces from) they are different color, and well, if i was gonna randomly guess not knowing brand or anything, i would say they are different, but the adjustability seems to be the same, and it has some pretty sweet vavling judging by my professional PALM SHOCK DYNO.

on a similar note, i know you can shim SA inserts to fit FB struts, but any options for going the other way? i still have a good pair of 79 struts.

i called kyb, the excel-G is the universal name while GR-2 is north america only, and they are all becoming the excel-G name.
