Take $2500 and buy an FB that's in good shape.

Take care of it, and drive it safely.

Put the other $5000 in a college fund. You'll need it in two years.

The second you've spent $7000 on a car that gets smoked by someone who's spent more, you'll wish you had your money back.

Get a degree, get paid and then buy whatever car your heart desires.

... just the dad in me...

Alright, I'm at school now so I'll make this quick...

Thanks for all the advice. The more I think about it, the more I realize doing the actual swap would be too much work for me to do without LOTS of help.

As far as collage, my parents said they'd pay for it, so no worries there (I know, I'm lucky)

On the RX-8 front, my dad is actually thinking about a sports car after getting a chance to drive mine and him and I are probaly going to take one for a test drive once the weather gets nice. (There may be another rotary in the family afterall)

I don't think I'd like to street port and try to get NA power out of my SE, and I don't really want to go with a carb so...I don't think I'd want to go for 200hp on my FB.

As far as goals, I've always be thinking a reliable 13 second 1/4 would be plenty fast for me (funny someone should mention that number) But I also would like the car to handle well, and be driftable, so I gotta remember to set aside some money for suspension.

Thanks again.

I have kosie k1 15x7 from tirerack, withc khumo tires
B&G springs with tokico adjustable shox.

handels like a dream, I could drift it alittle, but I was mainly lacking power.

total cost was about $1500
