Turbo.

Hi guys, new to the group and would like some help. I have a 1983 rx7 with a 12a. I am trying to decide between bridgeporting and street porting with a turbo. Does anyone have a prebuilt list on how much either would cost or what I would need? It is not my daily but would like to drive it long distances and have fun with it. So ease of use. Any and all help I'd appreciated! Thanks

I know others have more knowledge about this, but with a turbo you don't want a lot of porting.

So what you're saying is run a turbo without porting at all? I'm also interested on what would be needed for a blow through set up and where to get that.

74 spec port or streetport. It seems with boost, porting is less relevant. The FD guys are getting 400HP on stock ports.

Interesting does anyone have a list of stuff I'd need to run a turbo with a carb?

Manifold, fuel pump, boost referenced fuel pressure regulator, oil supply and return lines, tap front cover for return line , moog idler arm, carb hat, intercooler and piping. Coolant lines depending on what turbo you use. Lock the distributor, not sure if I'm forgetting anything. Most importantly, do all of the research that you can, especially on this forum, there is a lot of information on the topic

Don't fully lock the distributor. Semi-lock it. There is tons of info on the forum, recently posted by me, on what to do to have a successful blow through carb setup.
