tuning a smoker and smelly se
hey guys i'm really thinking about tuning my car and getting it to make better mpg... i get 200 miles on an se.. that sucks =.= ok sure it is a lot of spirited driving and going up a hill to the college in hayward that my gf goes to.
I recently drove on the freeway for 80 miles and got about 23 mpg... but now i am getting like 10 - 12? i know that our cars have really bad fuel management? but isn't there a way that i can tune it a bit? (without buying a lot of stuff)
also i know that i have some problems with my intake. mainly the almost dying and then sometimes the car revving by itself. i will try some of the things from the solving GSL SE idle problems. but i'm sure that there are other problems. primarily a wet/cold no start deal.
i'm sure that it is the car trying to keep me out of trouble
but sometimes i wanna rain drift 
basically the car gets a very weak spark and wont start, crank but no start. and it sounds like its getting fuel... in fact sometimes i unplug the fuel pump so that it doesn't flood (not sure if that would help?)
my car has the RB cat replacement pipe. during normal driving (and especially idle) its richer than bill gates. most people heavily complain about the bad fumes. the car drives fine for the most part and has a lot of power? i havn't driven any other se's or fbs so i wouldn't know.
i will try to get the idle to work better by changing the throttle stop and then readjusting the tps. do i have to make a light thingy or can i just check by ohmage? i'd say it idles just a tad higher than it should like maybe 900? any other things to worry about?
i've tried to research a lot of it but i always miss things or forget them. i search and find a lot of what i need but sometimes i just don't get the complete answer.

ok so i started tinkering with it.. now i am sure i need to adjust my tps correctly but i don't have the parts for it yet... it surges when i just slightly press teh pedal
