Thanks Kentetsu, well said.
Good thinking, however I would recommend you consider an alternative to the RB exhaust if your looking for more power. If all you want is a mild bump in power and streetability then it's a great exhaust, but like the sway bar I mentioned, it's heavy as hell. I have the streetport version and it is probably close to 80lbs, maybe more. It's quiet and sounds great at WOT going through a tunnel, but I'm sure theres more power to be had with a better design. Hyper4manceK's thread here https://www.rx7club.com/1st-generation-specific-1979-1985-18/racing-beat-exhaust-dyno-compairisons-823229/ will show you why it's not the absolute best.

yeah, I've been following that thread pretty closely. I have two questions about it though. If I were to get an exhaust , would that cost more than the street port RB system? I just really want to get bang for the buck on this project. Second question, if I did get an exhaust fabbed, what would be a good muffler choice? I hear that a lot of people go with magnaflow.
Well now i have some info that might be helpful! lol I had a local guy fab up an exhaust for me, a couple times. (2 different cars) I have a flowmaster on the back of mine and it gives it a deeper sound.
The exhaust system cost me roughly $150 to get it fabbed up and welded on including a brand new high flow cat, he did an awesome job. That price however is not including the muffler and header. So grand total I spent about $300 plus the muffler, it was on the car when i got it.
Lately I seen a thread about what I was thinking was a magnaflow muffler and it was expensive and actually pretty cheaply made. But don't quote me on that.
